A sustainable production process

Klopman is unwaveringly committed to operating its plant and facilities in complete compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and to operating in a manner that protects the quality of our environment and the health and safety of our people.

Comprehensive Approach to Reducing
Environmental Impact

From conscientious manufacturing practices to a comprehensive examination of the product life cycle, we look to analyse and mitigate impacts from every facet of our operations. Day by day, we assess our impacts and evaluate what we can do to reduce them, looking at our energy footprint, our water consumption, circularity programs and waste management.

Monitoring and Reducing Energy
and Water Consumption

We believe that effective monitoring of water and energy consumption is crucial for sustainable and responsible resource management. Implementing advanced monitoring systems allows us to collect real-time data on water consumption, identify patterns, and pinpoint areas of inefficiency. This data-driven approach means we can put in place proactive measures for improvement.

After depuration (purification) treatment, we reintroduce to the river the water taken and used in our production processes – without using any underground water. We also have a heat recovery system which reuses the resources generated in our production process, achieving a significant improvement of energy efficiency.

Certifications and Compliance with
Environmental Standards

Klopman is also compliant with several leading standards and certifications. This guarantees traceability of our sustainability practices and third-party verifications of our commitments.

Achieving STeP Certification

Year after year, Klopman has achieved the prestigious STeP (Sustainable Textile Production) certification released by OEKO-TEX® Association to measure manufacturing performances in terms of environmental performance, workers’ health and safety, social responsibility, chemical products and their use, and environmental management. Part of the certification is the Detox to Zero program, an efficient verification system for the textile industry which aims to implement the criteria of the Greenpeace Detox Campaign. We have achieved the maximum level on all practices.

ISO 50001:2018 Certification for
Energy Management

In 2023, Klopman also achieved certification for compliance with the international standard ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management. ISO 50001 defines an energy management framework for establishing specific energy policies, processes, procedures, and tasks to meet an organisation’s energy goals. It provides requirements for a systematic process, based on collected data and focused on continuous improvement of energy performance. With this certification Klopman is even better equipped to structure its approach to measuring and reducing even further our energy consumption, as part of our sustainability commitment. The standard is further proof of the company’s commitment to sustainability and attention to a conscientious use of resources.
