HISTORY
In the late 1960s, American textile manufacturer Bill Klopman, in conjunction with DuPont, pioneered the development of the world’s first polyester-blended fabric for industrially washed workwear. After extensive trials, the ideal performance fabric was achieved – using a blend of 65% polyester/35% cotton, the most important blend still in use today.
Acclaimed as a huge success by the US Laundry Association, Bill Klopman then set his sights on Europe. Market research proved positive and proposals were made to several European governments to build a high-tech manufacturing plant. A site was found in Frosinone, Italy and this became our new European manufacturing base.

1974
Klopman traslada la presidencia de los Estados Unidos a Londres.
1988
Klopman en Europa, adquirida por Dominion Textile Group, continúa su expansión.
2000
Klopman lanza Megatec, un tejido multifuncional para prendas protectoras.
2008
Se lanzan nuevos tejidos innovadores, que incluyen Vantage con tecnología CORDURA®. Se introduce el uso de algodón con certificación de Comercio Justo.
2012
Expansión en Asia. Joint venture con Argo Manunggal Textile.
2013
Nueva sucursal en los EAU. D. Alfonso Marra es nombrado nuevo CEO.
2015
Lanzamiento de K-Flame, la nueva gama de tejidos ignífugos inherentes de Klopman. Se abre la sucursal en Bangkok.
2016
2016 Klopman obtiene la certificación STeP by Oeko-Tex. La compañía es adquirida por la empresa francesa TDV Industries y la gerencia italiana.
